How to Paddle Out in 60 Seconds
How to Paddle Out in 60 Seconds
Getting out is half the session. The trick isn’t fighting the whitewater. It’s learning how to handle it.
Pick the safest path out
- Watch where the waves are breaking. Look for the open path to the lineup.
Watch the sets
- Watch a few sets to see their pattern. Use a lull to make your move.
Know your board
- Shortboard? Learn to duck dive. Bigger, buoyant board? Learn the turtle roll.
Stay out of the way
- Paddle wide of the lineup. Stay out of the riders’ path.
You don’t need to be fast.
You need to pick the right moment.
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
