Bayonne’s first World Series team is still being celebrated at home

PlayMAD! UNSTOPPABLE

Bayonne Little League had never been to Williamsport in 75 years. This 12-year-old All-Star team got there in 2026 — New Jersey champs, Metro Region, two wins at the World Series, top six in the country.

They played their last game August 25. They have barely had a free weekend since: police-escort homecoming, Broadway parade, first pitch at Citi Field, a Yankees day, and next a Statehouse visit with Gov. Mikie Sherrill plus recognition on the Senate floor October 22.

They did not win the Series. At home they already did. “They’re already champions here,” one parent said.

That’s the MAD! mindset — desire, eagerness, and enthusiasm when it counts.
