Ryan Kainalo of Ubatuba wins at home and takes the CS lead

Ryan Kainalo is 20, from Ubatuba. On October 3 he won the Banco do Brasil São Sebastião Pro at Maresias, on his own coast.
In the final he beat Alister Reginato of Australia 14.50 to 5.83. He opened with a high air for a 6.83, then a 7.67. In the semi he beat CT surfer Oscar Berry. He won every heat he surfed.
The title is 10,000 points. He leaves Maresias as Challenger Series No. 1, in the hunt for a 2027 Championship Tour spot. Ericeira is next, October 6.
