Sierra Kerr of Coolangatta qualifies for the 2027 Championship Tour

Sierra Kerr is 19, from Coolangatta. On October 12 she finished third at the EDP Ericeira Pro in Portugal and locked a spot on the 2027 Championship Tour. She is the first woman to do it this year. She sits No. 1 on the Challenger Series.
In 2025 she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She was out of the water for months and had to relearn how to surf. This year she won the US Open of Surfing and the Pantin Classic, then closed it in Ericeira. Her dad, Josh Kerr, met her on the beach.
